GOOGLE LAUNCHED ITS FIRST TABLET CAFE IN AFRICA

An African island, Dakar, a vast city, is nowadays witnessing a new era of technology. Google has launched his first ‘Google Tablet Café’ in Dakar, situated in a country called Senegal.  This grey colored tablet café is situated amongst the shops of mutton and barber shops and is making way for a new revolution to commence.

Google’s new venture
Africa is a big continent which is downtrodden and facing the burden of unemployment and poverty. In such a place Google’s new step towards development and growth can be a ray of hope for African people, thus helping them to overcome disastrous situation. Africa’s Google head told that it is world’s first tablet café where people can surf net using the tablets. Google’s tablet café concept is a twist for the old cafés.
Generally, you may find computers in cyber café but this innovative idea of Google would send a message across the world!

Tablet café: a step towards saving Electricity
Google says, generally the major problems which are faced by the cyber café owners are the electricity cut off and huge amount of electricity bill. To make up with this ever increasing rate they charge high from their customers to equalize their budget. Thus, Google wants every café to be converted into a pilot tablet café so that Dakar could emerge as strong city.

PC is not easily afforded by Africans
Today also Africans are not as much advanced and therefore can’t afford to buy personal computers. Thus, cyber cafés are more commonly preferred. Google also thought of opening tablet cafes due to the fact that tablet consumes much less power for charging and also can be used easily in case of power cuts. This device proves to be more convenient for use. Moreover, countries in Asia and Africa face long hours of power cuts therefore it would be better to encourage the tablet café so that net surfing can be easily facilitated.

Equinox
Six years ago when 33 aged, Maiden Sake opened his Equinox cyber café in Dakar he had to face the problem of power cuts. Last year, when Google declared the idea of converting the normal cafes into pilot cafes, Sake was the first one to apply for it and Google chose his café.  Now, in Equinox, 15 tablets are been installed and cabins are also made for private video chats.  Sake told that initially these tablets costs much higher but they are also capable of saving 25% electricity.

Tablet café
Google has claimed that in coming few years, it will try to change all the cafes into tablet café or the pilot cafes. Google is not only dreaming for tablet cafes in Africa but in other countries also. Google says, initially it will be quite difficult to use a touch screen device but gradually when it comes into habit then people will be used to it!

Well, we wish all the best for this new venture of Google. It is indeed grateful to see that such a big company is looking forward to develop a developing country!
