LENOVO A690 REVIEWED

Lenovo A690 has always surprised me! It is one of the upcoming new mobile phones from Lenovo. Whether it is laptops or accessories, Lenovo has always proved to be a satisfactory company. Company has recently stepped into mobile technology too! Recently it launched some of its models. Thought of reviewing Lenovo mobile this time, so headed towards the shop! Although shopkeeper tried to confused me with Micromax Bolt and Micromax Ninja illustrating its very features. Sticking to my point, I said him to pack Lenovo A690.

The first look of the phone was just wow! Big sized screen with capacitive touch is worth of catch attraction. Its eye catching look will not allow you to keep the phone into pocket! (Big screened phones are meant to show in public, no?)

Switching it on, by inserting two SIMS, as soon as I tried to configure my Gmail account with the Lenovo phone, it said that the either the password or the username is wrong! On searching World Wide Web (the ultimate savior), the information thus fetched suggested that Lenovo A690 is not yet compatible with Google play and Gmail! And this was really frustrating!

Display:
Talking about the display, the Lenovo mobile witnesses a grand 4 inches WGVA screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Capacitive LCD screen with a big display was something.  I finally ended up finding good. The brightness of the screen can be adjusted by making little changes under settings.

Operating system:
It is among the new android mobile phones which works on android OS 2.3.6. Its gingerbread android is outdated.

Camera:
3megapixels camera is just alright! The photos captured are okayish by nature! But the very fact that the shutter sound can’t be put into silent will disappoint you. This means that you can’t click pictures silently and may end up making birds, butterflies flying!

Special features:
However, the things which I loved most of Lenovo A690 include gravity sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor and scheduled power on/ off. Dual SIM at this cost adds further to the phones.
Various applications like Facebook, UC browser are inbuilt in the phone. Further you can switch on the data connection simply by notifications window unlike other phones of this range!

  • Li ion battery
  • Headset
  • Charger
  • 4gb memory card

Pros:
  • Big sized screen
  • Dual SIM
  • Appreciable camera at this rate
  • 4 GB memory card comes along with Lenovo A690
Cons:
  • Lenovo A690 can’t be registered with Google play and Gmail!
  • Shutter sound cannot be adjusted to zero
  • A patchy back which may look little shabby to some

Overall verdict:
An amazing phone at this range! I love to use it. It will give a nice competition to best Samsung mobile models under this range. It has some of the features which cannot be found even in best models in Apple mobiles.
