DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IPHONE 5 AND SAMSUNG GALAXY S4

With the growing competition between mobile companies, it seems as if only apple and Samsung with their smartphones could variably face the competition. Apple and Samsung with their respective smartphones Samsung galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 are in the markets. Let’s see who will stay in the market for long. Here is a brief comparison between the two.

 

DIMENSIONS

Samsung galaxy s4 as compared to iPhone is bigger in size from every dimension. Galaxy S4 is 137mm in length with 7.9mm thickness and 70mm breadth whereas iphone5 is 124mm in length, 7.6mm thick and 59mm in breadth. Thus prior to buying you need to judge its adjustment in your hands.

BODY

Same as galaxy S3, galaxy S4’s body is made up of plastic. The iPhone5 in the other hand is made of anodized aluminum. Iphone5 gives you a first class feeling with its aluminum body. Galaxy S4 a bit gives you a low feeling while it is on your hands.

MASS

Talking about the mass, iPhone5 is much lighter than galaxy S4 which weights up to 130gm; whereas iPhone weighs only 112gm. But for mass density Samsung galaxy S4 is comparatively lighter than iPhone5. This is when the dimensions of galaxy S4 are more than that of iPhone5. If the dimensions of galaxy S4 would be same as that of iphone5, it would be 15% lighter than the latter.

DISPLAY

There is no point of argument in the displays of both of them. This is because probably your eyes will not notice a difference as galaxy S4 is 441pixel per inch and iphone5 326 pixel per inch. Iphone5 has a 4’’ display and galaxy S4 has a 5’’ display.

PROCESSOR

Samsung galaxy S4 is available in two versions. Version 1 supports Exynos octa core and a frequency of 1.6 GHz while the version 2 supports qualcomm quad core 1.9GHz. On the other Hand apple’s iPhone 5 dual core 1.3Ghz.

RAM

Another comparison in favor of galaxy S4 is its 2GB random-access memory (RAM) which is twice as that of iPhone i.e. 1GB.

STORAGE CAPACITY

Comparing the storage capacity galaxy S4 has a microSD card which is expandable to 64 GB. Other storage choices are same in both.

WIRELESS

Both of the mobiles follow 4G LTE facility. The difference is Samsung will introduce a GS4 with HPSA+ speed which is not as rapid as LTE. In case of iphone5 HPSA+ is available only if LTE is not. 

BATTERY

Galaxy S4 has 2600mAh battery and iphone5 has 1440mAh battery. In comparison S4 has overpowered iphone5 but its big screen and high pixel reduces its talktime and usage. Apple approximates iPhone5 talktime and usage to 8 hours.

CAMERA

Both of them have front and rear cameras in it. Another benchmark by GS4 is its 13MP rear camera whereas iPhone has an 8MP rear camera only. They have 2MP and 1.2MP front cameras respectively.

Moreover other distinguishing features of GS4 are its Dual Camera, Drama Shot and Sound and Shot features in its cameras.
