Wikipedia completed its ever going 12^th year of success few days back and announced the launch of wikivoyage.org. The foundation issued a statement according to which the starting version of the tourism guide will feature around 50,000 articles available in 6 different languages.

Sue Gardener, the foundation executive director of Wikipedia foundation in one of his statements said that there is a lot of demand of tourism related information on internet and the sources providing the same are very few and unreliable. He further added that a German NGO have provided them with a lot of travel data.

The initiative is being taken to propagate and make people understand the culture and society of different places of planet.
