DISCOVER PLACES WITH WIKIPEDIA’S TRAVEL GUIDE

Wikipedia is the leading article directory and source of information on World Wide Web. Wikipedia serves as a great source of information for all the users, serving as one end stop for finding useful info. To carry on the tradition forward, Wikipedia has taken one more step in the same direction. Wikipedia launched its online travel guide. Following this lots of writers have started contributing contents to this online guide.

Wikipedia completed its ever going 12th year of success few days back and announced the launch of wikivoyage.org. The foundation issued a statement according to which the starting version of the tourism guide will feature around 50,000 articles available in 6 different languages.

Sue Gardener, the foundation executive director of Wikipedia foundation in one of his statements said that there is a lot of demand of tourism related information on internet and the sources providing the same are very few and unreliable. He further added that a German NGO have provided them with a lot of travel data.
The initiative is being taken to propagate and make people understand the culture and society of different places of planet.
